Photographic Art
Of all the contemporary art forms, photography is arguably the most attacked - some say that it has no artistic qualities, others believe it is more craft than art. Since photography plays a large role within the book, time is taken to deal with the issue over whether it is artistic or not.
The first image is a very beautiful piece by Clayton Bruster and Vixen - certainly shows the artistic nature of photography!
The second and third images by Marcus J. Ranum (Nerlande) and Craig Barnes (Tavia Spizer), respectively, showing the artistic nature of photography by incorporating a sculpture theme within it.
The next set of two images is a case of Photography copying art . . . Lorenzo Sperlonga's "Sekhmet" was used as the inspiration for a number of artistic photos by Veronika Kotlajic and Michael Rosen.
The Last set of images is an example where Photography is copied by other art . . . now photographic art is the inspiration for other artistic forms . . . The original is the Photograph of Veronika Kotlajic by Brad Schade . . . which was recreated by Lorenzo Sperlonga . . . and is also currently being recreated by James Brunner.
